Paqocha Alpaca is a privately owned New Zealand alpaca stud breeding both huacaya and suri. We are proud to provide quality animals and a first class stud service to our customers. We do this with a friendly, efficient and professional manner unique to Paqocha Alpaca. Our love for alpacas reflects in our animals which are carefully bred to improve progeny and to always guarantee quality.
Although independent, we are working closely with Surico Alpaca in Rotorua and with New Zealand Alpacas in Cambridge. By being their regional representative we have access to well over 400 top quality alpacas including some of the best stud males in the country. Through this affiliation we are part of a large network and can guarantee expertise, service and post purchase support equal to none. Our animals can be found around the country and lately as far as France and Sweden. We are pleased to have achieved export quality with our breeding and are aiming to continue our cooperation with foreign breeders through export. Our farm is set amongst rolling hills and farmland close to the Miranda Seabird coast. We have purpose built facilities only an hour south of Auckland CBD and conveniently close to South Auckland, Coromandel peninsula and the Waikato region. The name for the farm was inspired by South America with its rich Inca history. Paqocha (pronounced pack-ot-cha) means Alpaca in Quechua which is an indigenous language of the Andean region. Quechua was the official language of the Inca Empire and is still spoken today by approximately 13 million people in Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Northern Chile, Argentina and Southern Colombia.
